I decided to start off the new year by sharing some design process work. Liam Wade is a badass mixologist from Brooklyn. His company caters creative craft cocktails and eats for special events. He is also working on a line of spirits and bitters (package design in the works!). Right now we’re finalizing the logo and working on the web design for the cocktail catering company.
We wanted something very minimal, masculine and urban. This client came prepared with lots of inspiration photos, illustrations and logos that represent his brand in some way or another. This was great because I knew right away that we were on the same page aesthetically and the project was a great fit. After some research I pulled some more inspiration and we decided on a general art direction. The logo concepts above are a result of all our creative digging.
This project really is a fun one with lots of build out pieces. I’ll be sure to share more as things move along!
If you follow me on Instagramyou might have already had a peak at this one (I recently made my account public and plan to share more of my work there so feel free to follow along!). The Greenerer is an Instagram blog about healthy raw eating. This account is packed full of delicious raw vegan recipes that are quick to make and great for you. Laura, the brains behind the project, wanted to expand into a traditional blog space where she could could share more of her recipes, advice, tips and tricks for a healthy vegan lifestyle.
Once we got going, this project wrapped up pretty quickly. I think this one was more organization and planning than actual design work. First things first we organized all of Laura’s recipes into categories and uploaded the content to WordPress. Since the Greenerer started out on Instagram, integrating her account into the blog was a no brainer. For the logo + blog header, we wanted something simple and fun that didn’t take away from the recipe photos.
I don’t normally take on blog projects but this one was really fun! If you haven’t checked it out yet, head on over to The Greenerer for some raw vegan inspiration.
PS — Laura’s banana bread recipe is TO. DIE. FOR. Not to mention it’s dairy-free, egg-free, refined sugar-free, and can be made gluten-free too. How is this real life?
It has been a little while since I posted a design process post. The concepts above are for an organic kombucha brand. Have you ever had kombucha? It’s a delicious fermented tea with great health properties. Yum!
This client has some serious style and knew exactly what she wanted right from the get go. It’s always such a pleasure to work with a client that knows their style and sticks to it. That way we can spend extra time exploring nuances between concepts and not waste too much time exploring entire genres of design. We wanted the logo to be cool, simple, modern and purpose as the bottle label. In the end we decided on a slight variation of the bottom concept. It will be so rewarding to see this one on the shelves!
